Position Summary:

This is a study manager role which interfaces with clients as well as performs complex technical assays within the lab. The scientific focus is flow cytometry-based endpoints. This individual demonstrates high standards of personal and scientific integrity; fully accountable and understands the impact of actions. Candidates given best consideration will have the following:

  • Flow Cytometry experience with complex (13+ marker) panels, including panel design, method development and data analysis.

  • Knowledge of standard and non-standard study designs and the ability to draw scientific conclusions.

  • Ability to make decisions on assay results/data. Ability to problem solve unexpected analytical events within projects/assays, and issues within the wider group.

  • Oncology, Immunology experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Client interfacing experience (preferred) or experience working on cross-functional projects requiring collaboration and compromise

Other Essential Duties :

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for flow cytometry-based assays and other in vitro assays. Perform lab work and coordinate scheduling with internal and external groups.

  • Responsible for on time delivery targets. Anticipates study start, holds start-up and on-going study meetings, manages the execution of projects, study status and issues that could affect timelines or quality. Maintains awareness of potential for work scope change as well as the status of additional project components led by other team members. Provides Client feedback to study stakeholders and takes appropriate action to resolve issues.

  • Maintain awareness of the study and assay status at all times and anticipate issues which may affect, quality, timelines etc. To be responsible for communication of the issues to all parties internally and to take appropriate action to resolve.

  • Ability to make decisions on assay results, suggest assay/technique advancements/improvements to the client, and follow through with the client as necessary

  • Comprehensive understanding of routine use and maintenance of flow cytometry and other equipment appropriate the In Vitro Services laboratory, including troubleshooting. Is aware of new technology developments and actively supports their implementation.

  • Assist in the preparation/review of training modules in area of expertise.

  • Mentors and develops others in the group through continuous and consistent feedback.

Education/Qualifications:

  • PhD in relevant life sciences field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • 3 to 5 years industry experience in a relevant field. Experience with spectral flow cytometry preferred.

  • Immunology background is preferred.
