The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands Remington, Federal Premium, CCI, Speer and Hevi-Shot. We have domestic ammunition manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Oregon, and service law enforcement, government agencies and sporting enthusiasts throughout the world. Today, The Kinetic Group is an operating segment of Vista Outdoor Inc., but as recently announced will soon merge with a private multi-national company with a diverse portfolio of companies in the defense, security, automotive, aviation and rail industries.

Our Anoka, MN location is seeking a Paralegal to work within its Legal and Compliance department. The Paralegal will support two attorneys in multiple practice areas with a principal focus on product liability, third party due diligence compliance and intellectual property.

As the Paralegal, you will have the opportunity to work on:

  • Litigation file management, including opening matters in Legal Tracker, maintaining electronic files, e-billing, status updates, monthly reporting, and data analytics.

  • Create, disseminate and manage litigation holds.

  • Provide litigation support including drafting responses to discovery requests, interviewing document custodians, organizing productions, case management, manage e-discovery process and document production.

  • Facilitate third-party risk management including coordination of the Vendor Questionnaires and fulfilment of due diligence requests with the third-party relationship owners; update and document due diligence tracking with real time status and escalate follow up items, as needed; manage ongoing monitoring, and termination/off boarding strategies.

  • Assists in the integration of the third-party due diligence process with new businesses, including drafting training, and communicating the company’s process to business stakeholders across the company.

  • Assist with intellectual property portfolio management and work with relevant business unit personnel to effectively manage annuities and renewals in CPI database, analyze TM search and brand protection reviews for threats of infringements, and conduct preliminary trademark clearance searches.

  • Administrative duties as assigned, including filing, preparing correspondence, travel and expense reports, monthly reporting, and other.

  • Support other legal issues as assigned by attorneys.

You have:

  • A paralegal certificate and/or bachelor’s degree or combination of equivalent education and work experience.

  • At minimum five years of paralegal experience.

  • Experience with product liability litigation is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of the discovery process, including obligations around the preservation and production of documents.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, particularly with respect to document collection and production.

  • Good people skills; can-do, positive approach to daily tasks.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Skill with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products; Legal Tracker experience a plus.

  • Open to working in multiple areas of law.

  • Motivated initiative-taker who can work under general supervision.

  • Ability to manage numerous matters simultaneously under tight deadlines and pressure.
