Essentia Health Provider Liaison in Duluth, Minnesota

Job Description:

The Provider Liaison develops business relationships that generate the promotion and sales of inpatient and outpatient hospital services to assigned aligned and unaligned provider practices. The position includes responsibility for creating clear sales plans, updating internal knowledge of clinical services, collaborating with operational stakeholders and tracking and reporting field activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages personal portfolio and works to strategize growth by territory to market Essentia service line and build business from both new and existing physician referral base

  • Develops market plans and campaigns and initiatives, assessing new markets and analyzing business opportunities

  • Explores and builds partner relationships with service line teams to develop and/or enhance business alliances

  • Serves as liaison between physicians, their staff and Essentia Health, identifying and resolving all issues while maintaining and strengthening existing relationships

  • Promotes and markets Essentia Health by cross-selling product lines and services while cultivating new relationships and referral channels

  • Implements and directs marketing activities through various means including one-on-one contacts, production and distribution of promotional literature, invitation and/or announcements, etc.

  • Coordinates and participates in various special projects required by management including but not limited to open house receptions, community lectures, CME programs, health fairs, holiday, and Doctors’ Day programs, etc.

  • Introduces Essentia Health to physicians and their staff providing orientation to hospital products, services, and benefits

  • Attends service line, medical staff, medical specialty department meetings to remain current with issues affecting the physician delivery system

  • Consults with and assists physicians when change occurs (e.g., new affiliations, office space allocations, relocations of practices, staffing referrals, managed care contract referrals)

  • Creates and executes sales plans for assigned areas of physician business development to include monitoring activity and changing dynamics in the market and adapt sales plans as necessary

  • Develops messaging to communicate key differentiating features of Essentia Health

  • Regularly uses analytical software to manage a portfolio, document activities and evaluate sales effectiveness

  • Initiates and maintains face-to-face communication with targeted prospects; use scheduled personal meetings to uncover needs and deliver relevant information to build trusting and sustained relationships

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a business, marketing or healthcare focus required

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of marketing, sales, practice management or health care operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in business, marketing or healthcare preferred

Pay Range

$69285 - $103938 / year

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, as well as internal equity among our team.
