MAG Project Guardian E MAG Aviation Safety Official (ASO). in FAIRFAX, Virginia

Position Summary

Principle adviser to the MAG Lead Pilot (MLP) and Project Guardian Resolve (PGR) Program Manager (PM) on all site safety matters pertaining to flight and ground operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Provides safety oversight and promotes the PGR safety policy for all flight and ground operations,

  • Establish and maintains an aviation safety publications library, digital or hard copy. Update the safety and aircrew training academic classes per Appendix D, Flight Ground Operation Procedures (FGOP). Identify those subject areas that are site specific.

  • Establish and maintain the PGR FGOP, chapter 6, Risk Management (RM) program.

  • Manage the Hazard Identification and reporting procedures, submit appropriate initial reports, and maintains the permanent updated site hazard logs for Mag Employee Reporting Form (MERF).

  • Prepares appropriate safety records and reports IAW the PGR FGOP, chapter 6, Safety.

  • Establish procedures and guidelines for an effective Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention program for site operations to include supporting the prime contractors/customers FOD prevention efforts.

  • Conduct monthly flight safety and quarterly aviation safety and standardization meetings encompassing all functional areas. The ASO/FOM will organize and act as recorders, publish and distribute council/meeting agendas, maintain attendance records, summary of material presented, and method to brief absentees per Annex C and D, PGR FGOP.

  • Conduct initial and semiannual safety audits or assessments. The ASO will forward copies to the appropriate MAG officials to include the PGR PM. Deficiency’s will be cataloged and tracked using the Hazard Analysis Form and forwarded to be addressed at the program level.

  • Establish and maintains the PGR Site Safety Bulletin Board per Appendix E, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Control.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Site Pre-Mishap Plan (PMP) per Annex F, Pre-Mishap Plan.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

The required skills and knowledge include:

  • Must be qualified in, mission, type, design, and if appropriate series of aircraft.

  • Must have not less than 1000 hours documented Pilot-in-Command time.

  • Pilot-in-Command time for other aircraft must include 300 hours in multi-engine turbo prop aircraft.

  • Must possess a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.

  • Must possess a current FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transportation Pilot license.

  • Must possess BE-300 unrestricted type rating.

The minimum years of related experience required:

  • 7 Years

Education

The minimum level of education required is:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience.

Desired Requirements

The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:

  • Former US military or government law enforcement pilot.

  • US military trained Fixed Wing Instructor Pilot, Maintenance Pilot, or Instrument Examiner.

  • Prior overseas rotation experience, particularly in USCENTCOM/USAFRICOM area of operations.

  • Radio Telephone Operators Permit.

  • Experience supporting USSOCOM in global operations.

  • Civilian or Military school trained safety officer.

Other Qualifications

Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:

  • Candidates hired for this position will be subject to a post offer, pre-hire, pre-deployment medical assessment.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must possess an active Secret security/TS preferred

  • Must possess a valid passport with at least six months remaining prior to expiration.
