The Quality Engineering role. AMTEC Corporation, located in Janesville, WI, is a leading supplier of defense products to the US Government, specializing in ammunition, fuzes, firing devices and initiators. To support our 40mm ammunition program, we are seeking a highly motivated individual that will thrive working independently on a full time or part-time contract basis and will be positioned at Spectra Technologies located in Camden Arkansas. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required. Roles and Responsibilities Monitor production assembly processes. Participate in production team meetings to help drive continuous improvement. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel is required. Must be able to interpret ASTM Specifications, MIL-STD Specifications, blueprints and various inspection procedures. Must be able to use calipers, dial indicators and various other standard measuring equipment as required. Establish/monitor inspection plans based on customer required acceptance criteria. Strong communication and organizational skills required. Ensure compliance to customer requirements as well as AMTEC\'s Quality Management System. Will be working with a large range of personnel such as Engineers, Manufacturing personnel, various management resources and representatives from the U.S.G. Provide assistance for lot acceptance test requirements. Write and incorporate detailed work instructions. Plan and conduct quality audits while conveying findings through formal reporting. Comply with safety regulations and maintain Works closely with customers and suppliers to ensure strategies and priorities are communicated and well executed within the assigned programs. Review individual lot formation planning sheets for conformance to item specifications and contractual requirements. Review lot history documents and ammo data cards for compliance, resolving issues or errors with the subcontractor prior to submission to the QAR. Review, analyze and approve daily scrap reports. Schedule onsite reviews of AMTEC owned scrap in holding areas on the production line. Attend planning meeting with the subcontractor and the QAR. Escort visitors to the production line. Must be able to participate in gage reliability and repeatability with visiting engineers. Maintain accurate lot records to include inputting data into monthly reports for all ammunition lots produced. Work hand in hand with 40mm Systems Quality Manager to complete tasks required to meet organizational objectives. Working knowledge of SPC. Hold valid driver\'s license. Must pass background check Due to the nature of the work performed within our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives) approval. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a high school diploma with a minimum of 15 years work experience in a quality-manufacturing environment. Familiarity with ISO and other regulatory standards. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
