Newell Brands is seeking to add a Technical Training Instructor, a key role in the ongoing training of technical resources improving skill levels to enhance performance and efficiency. Aligning with PEAK, Newell Brands continuous improvement initiatives, the Technical Training Instructor delivers Technical Training Program (TTP) material to maintenance and manufacturing technical employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Support manufacturing & maintenance to develop & sustain a well-trained and flexible technical workforce through hands-on training, data driven outcomes, mentoring, & classroom instruction.

  • Maintain excellent attendance record.

  • Work with databases (Excel, Power BI, Sharepoint) and learning management system records to record, report and track training data.

  • Develop custom curriculum in partnership with stakeholders throughout the organization.

  • Must be able to teach technical troubleshooting processes.

  • Work with Technical Training Manager to report progress, align training processes with outcome metrics.

  • Maintain a positive, safe training program environment.

  • Adapt, update, and refine training to meet best practices, customer needs & post training survey data.

  • Coordinate training schedules, prepare training area setup.

  • Deliver instructor-led training for employees and leaders that aligns material to PEAK program standards.

  • Support Leaders in sustaining a positive work culture that supports company goals.

  • Coordinate distribution of surveys, interviews and questionnaires for pre and post training planning.

  • Documents organizational best practices to implement operational standardization through Newell brands.

  • Train others on maintenance/repair techniques, processes, and best practices.

Key Skills:

  • Good understanding of troubleshooting training/critical thinking in maintenance/engineering areas.

  • Solid decision making, judgement and project management ability.

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, especially PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Power BI & Excel.

  • Ability to successfully interact with team members from all levels of the organization.

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.

  • Ability to adapt training presentations to include manufacturing process examples for Newell facilities.

  • Learn and implement requirements using Newell PEAK program methodology.

  • Knowledge of the operation of power/mobile equipment; may require additional training and/or certification on process and equipment.

  • Expertise using and instructing organized troubleshooting methodology.

  • Must be able & willing to learn/perform technical duties and equipment operation of those they will train.

  • Ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand in training presentations.

  • Demonstrated approachable and engaging communication style.

  • Willing to work flexible shifts as needed.

  • Understanding & willingness to continuously learn PEAK concepts of TPM, Lean, Six-Sigma and continuous improvement as implemented by Newell brands.

  • Ability to work and administer CMMS, LMS and other additional digital software tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.

  • Proven leadership in timely scheduling, setup, and execution of instruction

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or documented formal training and experience in a technical role.

  • Experience in instruction, presentation, and technical training.

  • Experience in computer and data administration and reporting.

  • 4-6 years Maintenance / Engineering experience and leadership in a manufacturing environment.

  • Lean manufacturing culture orientation.

  • Safety mindset and safety qualifications, willingness to learn Newell safety requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree or above is a plus.

  • Injection molding and extrusion experience preferred.

  • Machine maintenance and troubleshooting experience preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish experience preferred.

  • Consumer Products Industry experience preferred.

  • Travel up to 20% may be required.
