This position reports to the Leader, Global Event Management. The Director, Enterprise Events & Activations is an enabler of successful global experiences – providing focused management and the ability to lead and implement customized end-to-end novel solutions tailored to each meeting and event. The Director, Enterprise Events & Activations is a strategic advisor who brings forward creative, boundary-pushing ideas, knowledge of designed experiences, production/staging, and transforms them into dynamic, engaging outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Project management

Oversees the work of two Senior Project Managers that lead C Suite and Executive Committee level meetings/events globally. Events range in size up to 100,000 people.

Manages specific events individually with the assistance of other resources to deliver end to end events

Ability to understand multiple business sector/functions vision, needs and requirements

Display strategic planning, meeting management, and people leader skills:

  • Provides comprehensive scope and project objectives

  • Establishes clear roles and responsibilities for project team members

  • Sets, communicates, and drives project timelines

  • Leads onsite project management (live or virtual); motivates and supports staff

  • Handles production: live and virtual, exhibits, registration, rehearsals

Requires risk management experience and strong negotiations skills

Oversees complex budget management

Leads specific Enterprise projects that include but are not limited to:

  • C Suite hosted events globally

  • Overflow planning of EC events (Large & Small events, Webcasts, Retirement Dinner, Receptions etc..)

  • Local Activations (NB based programming)

  • Oversight & decision making of various Enterprise Award Programs

Requires decision making responsibilities for specific projects in addition to overseeing the teams responsibilities.

Partners with Senior Director on various Enterprise programming globally

People management

Responsible for all people leaders assessments (5 performance conversations), development & training)

Responsible for (2) senior project managers that delivers travel logistics for the Johnson & Johnson Board of Director & EC meetings & events which include the following areas:

Registration, hospitality and logistics

Database and registration management (including onsite registration management & badging)

Airport operations and air travel (including Corporate Aviation)

Amenities, uniforms and gifts (including selection, collation, distribution & warehousing)

Décor and entertainment (including production and staging)

Food and beverage (including menu development, guarantees, BEO’s)

Function and hospitality space (including room layouts, space planning & CAD drawings)

Hotel accommodations (including allocation, assignments, check-in/out, luggage, payments)

Logistics (including scheduling, deliveries, load-in/load-out)

Travel (including partnership with agencies, visa processing & letters of invitations)

Tours (including free-time activities, excursions, customized options)

Transportation (including fleet, drivers, routes, schedules, parking, permits)

Ground transportation management (commercial & Corporate Fleet, air fare analysis)

Vendor and committee liaison (including DMC, hotel, and various vendors)

Offsite hospitality (themed events, dine-arounds, venue rentals, offsite special events)

VIP program management (including Board of Directors, Chairman’s Office, customers)

Procurement (including hotels, staffing, destination management companies (DMC’s), communication & promotional items

Staffing Management (procurement, selection, & training)

Conducts site inspections for all offsite events and meetings

Works closely with Corporate Medical and Security Departments

Production & Design

Requires strong production management and oversight of planning agenda including:

  • RFPs for production and graphic design agencies

  • Webcasting, streaming, engagement tools, filming – live and pre-recorded. Green screen recordings, Zoom recordings and webinars

  • Runs agency deadlines for presentations, scripts, and graphic design

  • Full run-of-show elements

  • Scheduling of rehearsals, makeup, and teleprompting

  • Production (including staging/exhibits, graphic design, and all audio visual support)

  • Work closely with in-house resources, TV studio & video production and J&J facilities

  • Liaise with communications partners (including communication strategy plan/event marketing)

  • Event content and design kick-off meetings

  • Works closely with Sr. Visual Strategist

Enable redesigned, reimagined on-site and virtual branded experiences

  • Implement branded experiences – exterior, interiors, digital and print – for global projects and events

  • Guide external vendors in the production of immersive hybrid experiences, exhibits, and spaces

  • Handle event registration and websites

  • Coordinate with design and project leads to deliver digital communications and promotions

  • Mobile experience

Technology: hybrid meeting experiences

  • Leads hybrid events

  • Knowledge of virtual event platforms, registration solutions and third party applications (Poll Everywhere, CVENT, etc)

  • Advances creative hybrid solutions; open to new ideas and services

  • Works closely with Sr. Technical Strategist

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors required

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 10 Years of Fortune 100 Planning Experience

  • People Leader Experience, Project Management, Budget Management & Reconciliation, Verbal & Written Communication Skills, Performance Management.

  • High degree of independent judgement required

  • High degree of confidence, problem solving & independent judgement in regular business situations

  • Proven relationships with event design and production agencies required

  • Experience and cultural understanding of global markets and event practices oversees in the luxury market

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be detail oriented, team player, self-starter and able to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Prior hotel experience preferred but not required

Other:

  • Percentage of global travel 35-50%

Salary:

The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.

The base pay range for this position is $137,000 -$235,750.

Bonus:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
