At Start Experiences, our mission is to foster a daily reading habit among users as they embark on their journey with Microsoft products. We design homepage(s) and new tab page experiences that are not only contextual and personalized, but also engaging and swift. Our focus at Start Experiences is to propel growth and engagement across a multitude of platforms:

  • Windows Widgets and Edge via homepage and new tab pages.

  • iOS and Android via Microsoft Start and Bing apps via Chromium browser extensions and direct navigations on homepages such as Bing.com, MSN.com and Start.com, Skype and Outlook Channels.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with partner teams such as Windows, Feeds & Verticals, Office, and others to deliver cohesive value.

  • Employ agile engineering methodologies to drive project execution, partnering closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other teams like Edge, Feeds & Verticals, and Windows.

  • Innovate and enhance the quality of our products and services by effectively collaborating across geo-located teams.

  • Develop scalable solutions serving as frameworks to address diverse scenarios across various partners and customer topologies.Contribute to rigorous engineering processes to ensure service quality, predictable delivery of new capabilities, and continuously improving metrics

Qualifications

R e quired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Problem-solving skills and a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle.

  • Proficiency in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment workflows and tools.

  • Experience in delivering complex yet scalable architectures to meet agile business needs on large-scale projects across divisions.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
