SUNY Upstate Medical University Plant Utilities Engineer 2 in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Utilities Engineer 3, will be responsible for oversight of all operations, repairs and supervision of HVAC systems during the night shift. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: direct and coordinate staff in the operation and maintenance of heat generating, air conditioning, HVAC and electrical equipment to include inspecting equipment, troubleshooting, test calibration, maintenance and repair of systems; perform various administrative duties such as: data gathering, qualitative and quantitative analysis, projects, program development, and coordination of duties in support of Plant Utilities Engineer 3's plan, direct and coordinate programs involving systems maintenance, health safety issues, and energy conservation. Must be able to lift, climb, stoop, bend, stand & stretch for long periods of time and well as perform moderate to heavy lifting. Must be free of facial hair or beard that may interfere with the fit or seal of a mask respirator at point of fit test. A mask must be worn in order to comply with State & Federal Safety Health Codes. Must possess and maintain valid New York State Driver's license.

Minimum Qualifications:

New York State Department of Civil Service Eligible List or eligible for transfer.

Provisional Appointment Qualifications:

To be considered for a Provisional appointment, you must have had one year permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Plant Utilities Engineer 1.

Preferred Qualifications: Work Days:

Schedule based on 40 hour work week night/weekend
