Capgemini Senior Cloud Solutions Architect in Toronto, Ontario

Job description:

We are in hunt for Cloud Solutions Architect specializing in Applications (Apps) and Infrastructure (Infra), you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. Your expertise will span both our application architecture and infrastructure design, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance within cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Solution Design: Collaborate with our clients and internal teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust cloud solutions. Design scalable, secure, and highly available architectures for applications and infrastructure on cloud platforms.

  2. Cloud Platform Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)! Stay updated with the latest cloud services, features, and standard processes to demonstrate them effectively in solution design.

  3. Application Architecture: Analyze existing application architectures and recommend strategies for migration to the cloud. Design cloud-native applications or refactor existing applications for optimal performance, scalability and cost-efficiency.

  4. Infrastructure Design: Define infrastructure requirements and design cloud environments that meet performance, security, and compliance standards. Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate provisioning and configuration.

  5. Integration and Interoperability: You will ensure seamless integration between applications and infrastructure components within cloud environments. Design APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures to facilitate communication and data exchange.

  6. Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures and compliance controls to protect applications and data in the cloud. Design identity and access management (IAM) policies, network security groups, and encryption mechanisms to safeguard critical information.

  7. Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize applications and infrastructure for improved speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Apply monitoring tools and performance testing techniques to continuously optimize cloud resources.

  8. Documentation and Communication: Create detailed architecture diagrams, documentation, and presentations to communicate design decisions and recommendations effectively. Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, operations teams, and business leaders, to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.

  9. Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter authority on cloud architecture and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and excellence in cloud solution design!

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 10 yrs of proven experience as a Solutions Architect, Cloud Architect, or similar role, with a focus on applications and infrastructure. Expertise in cloud computing concepts, architectures, and services, with certification(s) in AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred.

  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages preferably on Java or C#, Python, PowerShell.

  • Strong understanding of application development frameworks, databases, and middleware technologies.

  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges with devOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies is a plus.
