Cabela's Associate Category Manager, Hunting in Winnipeg, United States

Summary:

Reporting to the Category Manager, the Associate Category Manager supports in the achievement of company goals. Primary responsibilities include sourcing, selecting and vendor negotiating for product and achieving merchandising plan for the assigned area. This position is also responsible for the execution of the product life cycle in all channels of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute in the development and management of assortment, pricing, promotional planning, markdowns, and retail/ecommerce communication.

  • Provide support to attain financial performance goals, related to sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity.

  • Collaborate with both internal and external partners to help achieve company objectives.

  • Perform category level analysis of product performance across all channels for use in driving future planning and executions.

  • Drive Omni Channel promotional executions and visual merchandising strategies at retail and in the ecommerce space..

  • Conduct competitive analysis on catalogs, retail ads, websites and all other direct media for pricing strategies, product offering, etc.

  • Monitor and provide recommendations as needed on discontinued product, overstocks, inventory aging etc.

  • Partner with Visual Merchandising Team to provide direction for planogram and product positioning at retail.

  • Partner with E-commerce team to drive digital executions and promotional activities.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business administration or an equivalent combination of related education and experience

  • 2 - 4 years in Category Management, retail, administration or logistics and supply chain

  • Excellent computer skills in Excel

  • Experience using SAP is an asset

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with external vendors and internal departments

  • Experience negotiating and strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Knowledge/experience in outdoor activities and associated products is preferred
